Step into the rugged beauty of Newfoundland’s remote coastal communities with Reilly Fitzgerald’s folk art. Fishing for Halibut transports you to La Poile, NL, an isolated village only accessible by ferry, where just 60 residents (as of 2021) embrace the rhythm of the sea. The scene features Reilly’s friend and patron, Ray, casting his line into the Atlantic—a moment of quiet resilience and tradition.
Reilly’s artwork is a vibrant love letter to small-town maritime life, filled with charm, nostalgia, and a deep connection to Newfoundland’s fishing heritage. His work can be found at Fitzgerald Gallery & Arts Studio, his daughter Kaeleigh’s shop in Clarenville, NL.
This mini puzzle is a bite-sized adventure, perfect for gifting, travel, or a mindful break in your day.

Another delightful puzzle from Stumpcraft
I really enjoy the mini puzzles - and they are more challenging than you might think given the low piece count. After it’s assembled, there’s a second activity to enjoy: finding all the whimsies. Thankfully there is “deep dive” information on the Stumpcraft web site which lists all the whimsies to guide your efforts. In this instance, I totally missed Labrador and Newfoundland - sneaky.

East Coast Husband
We both were amazed at the quality and originality of the pieces. Beautifully done. If he had smaller hands/ fingers I think he would have been less frustrated putting it together but he persisted and completed it on his own on Boxing Day!
