Julie is known for her use of bold color and sharp contrast in her prairie and foothills inspired art. It was her dynamic skies that drew me to her work and ultimately led to a local artist collaboration. After sharing a few HDR photos for inspiration Julie was able to meld the bold fluidity depicted in her cloud-filled skies, into the earth-bound landscapes seen in typical Alberta Badlands morphology.
Beyond the creation of a stunning art piece, our goal was to provide a backdrop for a dinosaur-themed puzzle. The experience of solving a StumpCraft jigsaw puzzle is very much akin to that of a paleontologist. Enjoy sifting through the dinosaur bones and see how many species you can recognize and discover!

Excellent. Really enjoyed completing the puzzle.
Beautiful puzzle
I would have given this puzzle 5 stars, but the colors are more muted than what appear in the picture inserted in the puzzle. I still love this puzzle and would highly recommend it, but the colors are definitely more muted than I expected!
Love this puzzle!
This was our first StumpCraft puzzle and everyone in the family absolutely loved it. As someone who does lots of puzzles this was such a different experience and it is something you have to experience to believe how great it is to do a puzzle like this. The whimsies are so fun and adds an element to see if you are attentive enough to find them. The artwork is absolutely stunning and as an Albertan the image always brings back the memories of our trips to the Badlands when our kids were younger. Can't wait to add more puzzles to our collection.
Badlands
This is the 2nd time I did this puzzle. My first time was last fall. I thought it would be easier the 2nd time around but I was pleasantly wrong. I found it challenging and rewarding to do it again. I love the quality, and feel of the individual puzzle pieces. The size of this puzzle is perfect..not too big that it doesn't fit on your dining room table but big enough that it takes a while to do. I gave it a 4/5 rating only because of price. I have however found another person that loves Stumpcraft as much as I do, so we take turns purchasing puzzles and share them back and forth. I also love the fact that Stumpcraft gives points for posting feedback and pictures, which can be used towards purchase of more puzzles. I am also looking forward to Stumpcraft coming up with new puzzles to add to my collection. Thank you.
Badlands to the Bone - My AB backyard!
Work, puzzle, work puzzle ...repeat. I loved chipping away at this build and seeing it take shape. StumpCraft quality and creativity at it's finest. The real enjoyment was in building a puzzle that captures the true beauty of my Alberta backyard.
